Project Detail

Overview

Ghost Telecom, a new telecommunications company founded in 2006, are focused on developing low-cost, web-enabled VoIP and GSM services for international communities. FooCall is a web-based, international calling service that is accessed through a consumer’s mobile phone and/or PC.

Client Objectives

Ghost Telecom came to us with a well defined brief for the FooCall project, requiring both client-side and server-side development which meant working along side Ghost’s internal technical team to develop a complex series of web services, php objects and methods interfacing with their database structures and calling technologies.

The client-side build of the standards compliant xhtml and css presentation layer required the use of JQuery to deliver a rich user experience, providing registered users with some really useful functionality.
The site needed to support user registration and account activation (which in turn initiated access to relevant promotional offers, such as free calls). A user’s account also needed to deliver contact management functionality, call history, calling credit purchase via a secure payment gateway and even a time zones feature.

Results

The FooCall service and website was successfully launched earlier this year. Soak’s work was delivered within agreed timeframes and budgets. Ghost Telecom continues to work with Soak on FooCall as they introduce new service features and enhancements.

Ghost Telecom’s Marketing Director, Richard Diskin comments:
“This might sound like ‘one of those client quotes’ but the team at Soak really is great to work with. The quality of their work is excellent. Added to which, they are incredibly reliable – a precious attribute in any agency.”
