A quick post to promote Dynatrace AJAX Edition as a new tool for debugging Javascript. I’ll continue to rely heavily on Firebug for day-to-day Javascript tasks, but the detailed information and clear interface make Dynatrace stand out.

We were recently tasked by a client to feed in all of the images on their site to a Google map (geo-coded) as seen when you turn on the google images filter. This seemed fairly straight-forward at first as pretty much anything Google does is documented and easy to pick up, for some reason this is not the case with geo-coded images.
As you may well know Google uses Panaramio to display its photos on a map, this may be fine for some but was not suitable for us.

As a front-end developer, a new Web browser on the market brings mixed feelings. I’m always keen to see new technology, especially anything that promises to improve user experience on the Web, but I’m also uninterested in yet another platform to test our Web applications against (as if Internet Explorer 6/7/8, Opera, Safari and Firefox on both Windows and Mac isn’t enough!).

Typekit has been fully released (without so much as a Beta tag) and it’s about time to give it another shot. Last time I checked out Typekit, there were as many bugs as you’d expect from a developer preview release. Thankfully, a lot has changed and it’s all quite promising.
